Making Connections: Provide Lots of Opportunities

Mind in the Making parenting techniques

You are here: Home / Making Connections / Making Connections: Provide Lots of Opportunities

June 14, 2017

Chapter 4 – Making Connections. Action 1: Give children lots of opportunities to see connections – in fun and playful ways. We promote learning on the deepest level when we tap into children’s passion and enthusiasm and build on it. (P. 187)

Young children seem to have an “object” sense (161), a “space” sense (163) and an “approximate number” sense. (P. 167)

This is a Mini-Message by Dr. Darlene Clemens, summarizing one topic from Mind in the Making, by Ellen Galinksy. With permission of Ms. Galinsky to Dr. Clemens, and of Dr. Clemens to Mark Baumann.

For more information, SNACCMS describes and enhanced perspective on “extracurricular activities.” SNACCMS stands for Sports, Nature, Arts, Culture, Clubs, Music, Spirituality. Click here for a description and starter SNACCMS list.
